The Obi-Wan Kenobi Mini Bust depicts the character as he appeared prior to taking on his ghostly hologram form. This bust really, really looks like the guy. It’s almost creepy. The 6.5 inch depiction is somewhat restrained and esoteric, Obi-Wan deeply shrouded by his voluminous cloak. The mildly quizzical expression and subtle hand gesture would seem to indicate some sly implementation of the Force. In A New Hope, Princess Leia sent her desperate hologram message to Obi-wan via R2-D2, not realizing that the message would be intercepted by a young, credulous Luke Skywalker. Eventually the message did find its way to its intended recipient. Obi-Wan understood the portent and recruited young Skywalker. Any questions as to Obi-Wan’s possible diminished skill were addressed when he mopped up the floor with Pondo Baba and Dr. Evazan and then bamboozled the Sandtroopers sent to reacquire R2 and C-3PO. Ultimately, Obi-Wan’s destiny would place him within dueling distance of his former friend and student, Darth Vader. Obi-Wan cannily transcended the mortal coil and became Luke’s ghostly mentor for the remainder of the franchise.
